Cape May Ensuite Bedroom
A dated seaside bedroom reimagined as a glamorous, magazine-featured teen girl’s ensuite in soft plum and pewter.

The challenge
A Victorian seaside home in Cape May had a tired bedroom — golden-yellow walls, a builder-grade ceiling fan, and mismatched furniture — that did nothing to live up to the home’s charm or suit the young woman it was designed for.
The vision
We layered the room into a glamorous teen girl’s ensuite: feather-motif grasscloth in plum and pewter, a tufted velvet bed beneath a bespoke draped fabric crown, a sparkling crystal chandelier, custom leaf-print drapery, and chic mirrored and grey-washed furnishings, finished with a Venetian-mirrored dressing table and a striped chaise reading nook.
The result
A polished, grown-up-yet-playful ensuite that was featured in both Cape May Magazine and Design NJ Magazine — proof that a teenager’s bedroom can become the most photographed space in the house.
Drag to compare
The bed wall — from dated guest room to glamorous focal point.
The dresser wall — reimagined with custom grey-washed cabinetry.
