Chester Kitchen
A ground-up kitchen addition crowned by a cobalt-and-copper range, vaulted beamed ceiling, and a salvaged stone wall.

The challenge
A historic Chester, PA home needed a true heart-of-the-home kitchen — but as a ground-up addition rather than a renovation, it had to feel as though it had always belonged to the house, with no existing footprint or finishes to build from.
The vision
We designed the addition around a soaring vaulted ceiling with an exposed timber beam and skylight, then grounded it with a salvaged natural-stone feature wall and a statement cobalt-and-copper range. Layered, collected cabinetry — cream, cherry, and navy — paired with twin work islands and a furniture-grade burlwood island to give the room the depth of a space assembled over generations.
The result
A light-filled, character-rich kitchen that anchors the home: hardworking enough for serious cooking and entertaining, yet warm and personal, from the hand-painted tile mural to the arched glass display hutches and a dedicated beverage bar.
