Transitional Bedroom Refresh
This transitional bedroom refresh features Grey, Black, Cream & Teal that are used throughout the space in a mixture of prints & patterns.
NGD Interiors was tasked to create a new and fresh transitional bedroom while using the existing furniture. We immediately created a floorpan that rearranged the entire space. We moved the bed onto the long exterior wall under the window. By doing this simple arrangement, both nightstands were able to be used on either side of the bed. The tall armoire and dresser stayed on their respective walls.
To balance the off-white tones of the contemporary furniture we used a refreshing spa like color on the walls and for a transitional traditional feel we topped it with crisp white crown molding. The soft aqua blue color offsets the Brazilian cherry floors, while the soft geometric rug in a blend of creams, grays and whites helps soften and tone down the floor. We used a mixtures of grays, silvers and blacks for the transitional bedspread. While on the pillows, pops of patterns featuring geometrics and florals with various shades of aqua were used. With a low headboard, drama was added to the bed with the addition of tall draperies taken to the crown molding featuring a linen finish with a transitional black block pattern. A dark woven shade with black out lining makes certain that the window will not let light in the early morning or for those afternoon naps. Matching hammered metal table lamps and tall colorful peacock prints adorn each nightstand for a cohesive look.
By moving the bed onto the opposite wall, there was space for a new TV console, a must for hiding the unsightly cable and DVD boxes. A transitional media console in a deep distressed blue with glass inserts featuring geometric mullions, was the perfect addition. Above the TV we paired creamy off white 3 dimensional wall squares. On the adjoining wall, a collage of UttermostUttermost silver and linen matte frames were added for cherished family photos. Other hammered metal accents, and brightly colored accessories in teal, blues, and aqua colors were used throughout to create this transitional bedroom refresh.
