Spanish Modern Kitchen
A Spanish Modern Kitchen that incorporates cream colored cabinetry, a large center island and black accents.
NGD Interiors was tasked in making this severely outdated kitchen into a family friendly eat in kitchen. Taking cues from the couples favorite honeymoon spot, Barcelona, Spain, we incorporated a fresh Spanish modern feel with farmhouse style finishes. Starting with the space planning, we removed an eyesore of a laundry center, by relocating them into a utility room. Next, we relocated the refrigerator and small pantry, allowing us to open up the space into the dining and great room. Finally, the rarely used back door was removed, granting us space for a longer non interrupted cabinet run.
Next up, NGD Interiors designed the cabinet layout for this Spanish modern kitchen. We flipped the orientation of the island, a must for this busy mom, who needed views of the living room and dining room while in the kitchen. The new island allowed for pantry storage and an under counter refrigerator, perfect for the kids to grab their after school snacks and beverages. The countertop overhang allows for pull up counter stools, perfect for grabbing a quick snack or doing homework. The main refrigerator was relocated next to the sink for easy access, while a new tall pantry cabinet was moved next to the range, perfect for storing small appliances and and pantry snacks.
Spanish Modern finishes were incorporated throughout the space including the fun Spanish tiles behind the range. Classic white subway tile pairs nicely with the light painted cabinetry and dark countertops. Black grout was used for the tiles for a fresh modern feeling. Black finishes were used throughout the space including on the black Kohler faucet and the unique black stainless steel finish on the Zephyr hood. We upgraded the overhead and under cabinet lighting. We used decorative black wall mounted lighting above the window and unique statement pendant lighting above the island to finish off this Spanish modern kitchen.
