Optometrist Commercial Design and New Buildout
A complete build-out of an Optometrist Dr’s.Office featuring display & retail spaces, working labs, exam rooms, bathrooms, & offices.
NGD Interiors worked with the optometrist (client) building management, architect, and contractors to create this one of a kind space. We were brought in the process at the beginning while the client was in the beginning process of finding a space perfect for their new optometrist office. After carefully listening to the clients needs, daily procedures and protocols we were able to establish the clients “shopping list” for space requirements. We provided insight on multiple sites including potential “test-fits” and typical budgets used to procure funding.
Once the space was found, NGD Interiors worked with the architect to ensure that all of the clients goals were met, including the layout of exam rooms, testing, and substantial plumbing needs. We ensured that items that were included in the “build out” budget was clearly specified & sourced, making certain that the products used would not only meet life safety codes but be stylish as well. Other critical items such as custom built-ins and other retail displays were coordinated to make sure that once the walls were closed up, the proper electrical for lighting and surveillance were available.
The retail portion of the Optometrist office features a large custom display, designed with Nina Green Signature Series cabinetry. The built ins feature modern white high sheen tall cabinets with Hafele integrated Loox LED lighting. Glass shelves ensure that the light will reach all of the glasses being displayed.
For the optometrist exam & testing rooms we used a white cabinet with a traditional raised panel, giving a non-clinical appearance found in most Drs. Offices. We topped it with a durable laminate top in a sleek butcher block pattern. Each exam room was equipped with a space for a computer, drawers for optical equipment and patient sink.
A mixture of modern & vintage pieces were used throughout the design. A modern custom cabinet display was built using Nina Green Signature Series Cabinetry. Custom upholstered pieces were used using contract grade fabric to ensure that they were durable as well as attractive.
