Master Bathroom Spa

Master Bathroom Spa

A master bathroom spa renovation featuring a large shower with marble and soapstone accents.  Soothing grey color palette and brushed nickel fixtures with spa worthy settings.

NGD Interiors was brought in to help refresh this builder grade bathroom into a master bathroom spa.  Working with the contractor, the decision was made to take out the large, unused corner garden tub in lieu of a larger spa shower.  The client needed the help of NGD Interiors for the specifications of all necessary materials including cabinetry, fixtures, and tile to achieve the much needed spa feeling.

By taking out the unused garden tub, a much needed larger vanity could be incorporated into the design.  The master vanity is painted in a crisp white.  The larger vanity allows for a matching storage tower with shelf and drawer storage, perfect for storing toiletries and towels within reach.  The countertop features a smooth dark soapstone with two undermount white sinks and brushed nickel fixtures.  The mirrors were updated from one single large frameless mirror to two stylish mirrors topped and sits atop spa like tile running to the ceiling for easy cleanability.  A smaller medicine cabinet mirror was incorporated on the side for even more storage allowing countertops to remain clear for that master bathroom spa feeling.

Easy to maintain tile with master bathroom spa worthy finishes where specified. For the overall floor, a smooth porcelain tile in a large format finish was chosen.  Porcelain, known for its non-porous features is easy to maintain, while the large format does not allow as many grout lines for dirt and grime to get into.  For the shower, we chose a large format porcelain tile in a gray color palette that incorporated a 3-D texture for a stone look.  The expansive tile, running floor to ceiling, was broken up with a picture frame type setting with a contemporary peacock pattern featuring marble and ming green tile. Reinforcing the master bathroom spa feel is the multicolor pebble floor.  While stylish, pebbles are also practical as they help massage the feet while providing better grip opposed to smooth slippery tile.  A built in bench with soapstone top provides a stylish and functional statement, perfect for shaving legs or waiting for that leave in conditioner to work its magic.  Matching soapstone shelves were added in the corner for holding shampoos and soaps.

A Moen shower system in brushed nickel was used, featuring an overhead spa rain shower head, a perfect way to destress after a hard day at work or rigorous workout.  Just outside the spa shower is a towel rack with an incorporated warmer, a perfect touch to this master bathroom spa renovation!
