Builder Upgrade Transformation

Builder Upgrade Transformation

A builder grade house receives a transformation with blends of tradtional furniture and  modern accessories.

The living room had good upgraded builder bones to start with: beautiful hardwood floors, upgraded moldings, overhead lighting, and even a pleasant color on the walls.   We started by adding a seating area, featuring a traditional rolled arm loveseat sofa and matching side chair in a soft creamy linen color.  The sofa and chair feature brass nailheads and wooden feet to round out the classic feel.  A traditional sideboard with a large decorative Uttermost mirror becomes the main focal point of the room. A black sofa side table carries the black color to the other side of the room. Next, we added modern pieces with the brass and glass coffee table, brass bar cart and a flatweave kilim rug in beige and cream.  We finished the builder upgrade transformation with drapery in a linen and floral pattern featuring soft colors and a colorful large canvas print above the sofa, warming up an otherwise cold room

In the nearby family room we upgraded the builder window shades to a soft striped teal and green drapery and added a traditional wood media cabinet for the TV and storage.

Continuing through the house, simple upgrades to improve the builder grade home was made.  In the kitchen, the round table was switched to a long dark wooden farmhouse table with chairs and complimenting farmhouse bench.  The overhead drum light shade was swapped for a more traditional candelabra style fixture.  We ditched the builder grade paper shades and upgraded to a floral roman shade that complimented the existing paint and cabinetry of the kitchen.  Simple yet elegant changes were made to make this a builder upgrade transformation!
